RAP’s annual fundraiser, “JUSTice SOULstice,” was a great success! With your support, we were able to raise $15,000 in just one day! The night kicked off with a powerful panel entitled “Safe at the Center: Uplifting Youth Changemakers in Trump’s America,” facilitated by RAP’s very own YouthVoiceNYC intern, Angelis Harvey. The panelist, which included healing justice organizers from H.O.L.L.A., Kevin Stump of Young Invincibles, Arziki Adamu of Columbia Law School, and Donna Lieberman of the New York Civil Liberties Union had a great discussion focused on the need to invest in real journalism, center young people, and counter censorship to combat fake news. The panel opened the way for an incredible night of laughter, fun, and dancing, along with heartfelt speeches from each of this year’s honorees. Overall, it was a great night of celebrating community partnerships and the power of our young people.
If you weren’t able to make it to Soulstice, you can relive the night by visiting the Soulstice photo album on RAP’s facebook page. We want to send a huge THANK YOU to our incredible event sponsors, JPMorgan Chase & Co. and HBO, whose support helped make this event possible! We also want to thank Bulleit, Ketel One, Don Julio Tequila, The Brooklyn Brewery, and Five Boroughs Brewing Co. for providing some incredibly soul-satisfying beverages throughout the evening. Cheers to next year’s event!
