Youth Information and Advocacy Help Desks

RAP partners with existing organizations and schools to provide single-stop information and advocacy help desks for low-income youth (ages 13-22) on civil legal issues that impact their ability to make a healthy transition into adulthood. 

RAP advocates set up a table on-site organizations throughout the city and provide comprehensive legal information and assistance for your youth on a wide range of issues that impact their lives.  Our clinics provide comprehensive legal information, legal referrals, and ongoing advocacy support in the following civil legal areas: 

  • Education,
  • Public Benefits,
  • Teen Parenthood Issues,
  • Employment,
  • Child Care,
  • Foster Care,
  • Housing.

 

On-Going Advocacy Support

Every young person who comes to a RAP Help Desk of Workshop is eligible to receive on-going, individualized advocacy support for a minimum of six-months. This support is provides whether of not the young person is in crisis, or simply wants a consistent, trusted advocate on retainer to turn to for information and assistance as needed.
