RAP is currently focusing on the following policy issues:

  • Early Education and Quality Child Care for Low-Income Children -- Our work in this area involves ensuring that low-income infants and toddlers have access to quality early education programs that prepare them for school. This work also involves a special focus on the child care needs of particularly vulnerable populations, including teen parents and parents receiving public assistance;
  • Strengthening Teen Families -- Our work in this area involves advocating for policies, funding allocations, and program implementation that address both:
  • The independent and unique needs and challenges of teen mothers, teen fathers, and the children of teen parents; and
  • The interrelated and intergenerational needs of teen families as a unit.
