Internship Opportunities

The Resilience Advocacy Project offers semester-term and summer-term internships for graduate and law students.  We work with students to obtain academic credit for their work. In addition, there are often opportunities for both graduate and law students to develop policy papers papers on subjects growing out of RAP's work.

All of our current opportunities are listed here and updated regularly. Please check this site frequently for updates.

Law and Policy Internship  - Fall 2009
The Resilience Advocacy Project seeks up to three law or policy student interns to help with its child and youth advocacy work during the Fall of 2009.  Interns will have an opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the work of a youth advoacy non-profit, including program development and implementation, legal and policy research and writing around critical cutting-edge issues pertaining to children and youth living in poverty, and working directly with low-income children and youth. Finally, the student will have an opportunity to gain experience working on various forms of legal and policy advocacy initiatives.

Interns should also possess strong research, writing, analytical, and organization skills. Because this is a small organization, they should also be comfortable in a start-up non-profit environment, and be self-motived and self-directed.

The application deadline for Fall 2009 is September 20, 2009. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early.

To Apply:  Interested students should send (1) a cover letter explaining their interest in child and youth law, (2) a current law school transcript, (3) a legal writing sample, and (4) a current resume. These items should be sent by e-mail to richie@resiliencelaw.org with Fall Internship in the subject line.

The Resilience Advocacy Project is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer that welcomes qualified applicants of all races, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations, including people who have been previously incarcerated.
